Mr Eman Vella is the firm’s Agri-Environmental Expert & Business Development Executive as well as specialising in the identification of EU funded opportunities and initiatives. Furthermore, Mr Vella assists the firm’s managing consultant in delivering key projects within established time frames and in a cost effective manner.

Following the conferment of a Bachelor’s honours degree in Geography and a post graduate degree in Education from the University of Malta, Mr Vella went on to, successfully, read for a Master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Resources Management awarded by the University of Malta in collaboration with James Madison University, U.S.A.

Following the award of the contract to Atriga Consulting Services by the Directorate of Agriculture at the Ministry of Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change, (MSDEC), the firm is currently drafting ‘The Agricultural Policy for the Maltese Islands’ covering a ten year period. To this end Mr Vella has been designated by the firm as its key executive to co-ordinate and draft the said policy.

A few years ago Mr Vella was entrusted with the coordination of a LIFE+ project wherein he, successfully, managed the delivery of a national information campaign on the proper use of nitrates by farmers and livestock breeders.

In the past, when still working at the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs, Mr Vella coordinated also various national projects related with water and agriculture.

Academically, apart from lecturing subjects with a considerable geographical content, Mr Vella regularly delivers lectures to various stakeholders on agricultural and rural development.

Mr Vella co-authored a student reference book, entitled ‘Environmental Education: Malta and Beyond’.

Mr Vella currently chairs the Majjistral Local Action Group Foundation, a public-private partnership responsible for the management of the LEADER (a French acronym which means ‘Liaison among Actors in Rural Economic Development’), funds throughout the north-west territory of mainland Malta.
